Is Natural Deodorant Better For You?

What About Natural Deodorants

Do you need to be conscious when it comes to the ingredients of the antiperspirant deodorants? The harsh reality is that many cosmetics use a long list of chemicals, but you may need some confirmation when it comes to natural antiperspirant deodorants.

One of the main ingredients is aluminum-based and parabens, as they are harmful and can also lead to breast cancer. But till now, there is no scientific proof that aluminum can cause breast cancer. It depends on the individual what they want to opt for. Some use organic deodorants, while some don’t bother to see the list of ingredients used in making them. But if you have sensitive skin, you need to be careful about the ingredients, as the ingredients present in the conventional antimicrobials can cause itching.

Natural deodorants contain natural ingredients instead of aluminum-based and alcohol-based ingredients. The natural ingredients include baking soda to help neutralize odor and absorb moisture, coconut oil or shea butter to act as an antimicrobial agent, and arrowroot to help absorb moisture.

What Should You Do?

According to the US dermatologist, conventional antiperspirant deodorants are safe, so you don’t need to worry about switching to a natural one. But yes, there are always individual preferences where the texture of your skin can lead you to choose a natural deodorant.

If you opt for switching, then you need to keep certain things in mind-

    • Natural deodorant can help to reduce armpit odor and not sweat.
    • Check your skin is prone to rash or any other irritability as you begin to use new deodorant.
    • You may need to reapply the natural deodorant after a heavy workout and exercise if you sweat quite a lot.

Lymph Nodes

Antiperspirants have cancer-causing ingredients that your skin can absorb after you nick your underarms with a razor. Your arms consist of lymph nodes where these substances get deposited, and you will not be able to get rid of them by sweating as the antiperspirant keeps you from perspiring. Also, due to the thin skin under your arms, your arms are prone to allergic reactions. As a result, your immune system might respond to the lymph nodes, and they might swell.

Conclusion

Now you can decide whether a natural deodorant will suit you or not. It is better to stay informed about your body so that it is easy for you to choose the products easily. Natural deodorants have many benefits and are certainly better for your body, just as any natural product is. The only downside of natural deodorant is that it may not work as well.
